Artwork Licensing
My colorful illustrations and repeating surface pattern designs can be licensed to brands all over the world to use on products such as kitchen decor, dining accessories, wallpaper, shower curtains, stationary, swimwear, women’s apparel, brand packaging, … and more!
What is art licensing?
Essentially, art licensing is where you ‘rent’ artwork from an artist.
As a licensee, you pay an agreed-upon royalty rate to the licensor (the artist) for each product sold. (Depending on the circumstances, I may also consider a flat payment option - more on this in the FAQs below.)
How it works
-
Step 1
Pick out the artwork you'd like to license. I’m always adding new artwork to my portfolio.
-
Step 2
I'll send you high-res Photoshop files. I'll work with you to make sure everything is perfect for your products.
-
Step 3
You can print my artwork on your products and sell them to your customers. I'll even help promote your product via my social media channels.
-
Step 4
Each month or quarter, you pay me an agreed-upon royalty rate based on the work that was sold. It’s that simple!
Artwork Licensing FAQs
-
A non-exclusive license is where you choose a design of mine to be manufactured by the printer of your choice, and sold as finished goods in a specific category and region.
At the same time, other companies will be able to license the same design from me to put on their products, including products in the same or similar categories.
-
Having an exclusive license means that I will not license the same design to another company for the same category and region as you.
As the designer, I retain the right to use the design during the licensing period for any other purpose not specified in the licensing agreement; for example, if you have exclusively licensed a design for kitchen linens, then I may also license the design within a different category such as wallpaper or women’s apparel.
At the end of the term, you will have the first opportunity to renew the design. If you decide not to re-license, then the rights to the design revert back to me.
-
As the artist, I retain all copyright and ownership of the artwork and all derivative works at all times.
-
Royalty rates are dependent on many factors, including exclusivity needs, the product price point, and the number of products expected to be sold.
In certain circumstances, I can also work with you on a flat payment option instead of a royalty-based payment plan.
Please reach out to me with as much info about your needs as possible so that I can provide you with a quote.
